M14 Classical Music Unveiled, A Journey Through Genres and Eras

Unlock the secrets of great music as you journey from the soaring harmonies of the Renaissance to the bold soundscapes of today's contemporary classics, discovering how composers across the centuries expressed beauty, drama, and emotion. Along the way, you'll learn to recognise the key elements of music-melody, rhythm, harmony, and form-brought vividly to life through connections with works of art and architecture. No prior musical knowledge is needed-just a willingness to extend your repertoire of listening. Prepare to hear music in a whole new way!
Venue: 97 Creek St
Friday 11.00am - 12.15pm. 8 weeks. Classes started 24 October, finish 12 December.
Cost: $40 (prepaid), 8 weeks

Whether a newcomer or an avid listener, this course invites everyone to experience the timeless beauty of classical music.

About the Tutor:

Barbara LevienBarbara has a Bachelor of Music from UQ where she developed a love of the Baroque period and musicology. She spent 25 years as a high school music teacher and held the position of Head of Performing Arts. Since leaving full time education, Barbara works with preservice teachers at UQ supporting them as they develop their craft. She is a presenter at 4MBS Classic FM Radio, a Marriage Celebrant and a less than average pickleball player.
