Tutor: Carol Owens
Our group has developed into a strong community of practice. We provide sessions focusing on creating portraits. This class is conducted via an email discussion group and twice a month Friday catch-ups in New Farm Park. We use the mediums of pencil and charcoal predominantly, and some have also begun to experiment with other mediums such as watercolour and acrylics. Students should hope to develop their ability to capture and produce proportionately accurate and realistic portraits.
District: Northside Venue: New Farm Park, Brunswick Street, New Farm

* Reference material or a suggestion the kind of photo to use
* An Email Discussion Group platform enables students to contact the group or send private emails to the tutor and/or each other for tips/feedback/advice etc.
2. Portraits in the Park gatherings:
When: 11.30am - 2.30pm Fridays x twice a month dates to be advised at beginning of term
Where: New Farm Park - we have a favourite shady site in this iconic park
How: Students: BYO seat, drawing utensils, sanitizer, drinks, hats etc; relax, have fun, get tips/advice and oh yes, most importantly of all - enjoy learning together.
